About the Role
Exemplifi is building NeuralOps, a next-gen time tracking and monitoring platform. A key part is NeuralTray, a system-level Rust app that runs on user devices. They need an expert Rust consultant to handle packaging, deployment, and system integration for Windows, macOS, and maybe Linux.
Key Responsibilities
- Create cross-platform installers (Windows, macOS, Linux optional).
- Set up secure auto-updates with rollback control.
- Handle OS-level permissions (background access, screen recording, admin rights).
- Integrate with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
- Work with Rust dev team for system-level integration.
- Prepare clear technical documentation.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of Rust (system-level development).
- Installer packaging & signing for Windows/macOS.
- Familiar with cargo-bundle, cargo-dist, tauri-build, wix, NSIS, pkgbuild, codesign, etc.
- Strong knowledge of OS services, permissions & security.
- Experience with CI/CD deployment pipelines.
Nice-to-Have: Linux packaging, compliance-heavy projects, background apps, or Electron deployment experience.
Contract Details
Scope: Full installer lifecycle (design → implementation → automation)
Deliverables: Installers (MSI, DMG/PKG), Auto-Update System, CI/CD Setup, Docs & Playbooks
Workload: Less than 30 hrs/week
